We found three respected, yet affordable colleges and business schools that launched their own 100% Online MBA programs and applications are being accepted right now. This month, we are happy to report that Virginia Commonwealth University, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, and Doane University now offer Online MBA programs. Enjoy!
Virginia Commonwealth University – Richmond, Virginia
The School of Business at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) has a new Online MBA Program that offers the same “world-class faculty and curriculum as the VCU MBA,” with the convenience and flexibility of attending from anywhere in the world. Per the school, though online students are not in the same room as their classmates, they will “still be fully engaged, since classes are small and interactive.” Student will have “opportunities to network with fellow students, faculty and business leaders through special events and three on-site residency weekends.”
The program consists of two three-credit courses and a one-credit course each semester focusing on contemporary business issues such as globalization, entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation, cybersecurity, and risk management. Sample three-credit courses include Statistical Fundamentals for Business Management, Information Systems for Managers, Information Systems for Business Intelligence, Organizational Leadership and Project Team Management, Operations Management, and Business Policy. One-credit courses cover topics such as Globalization & Sustainability, Integrated Risk Management, Cybersecurity, Pricing, and Entrepreneurship.
An affordable and innovative option for career advancement, the VCU Online MBA program is accepting applications now for classes starting in August 2018. The application deadline is June 1, 2018.

North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (N.C. A&T) has introduced a new Online MBA, with classes beginning now (Fall 2017). Offered through the College of Business and Economics (COBE), the new Online MBA Program will offer two concentrations—Human Resource Management and Supply Chain Management. “We are excited to offer the Online MBA program to students in North Carolina, across the country and around the world,” said Assistant Dean and MBA Director for the college, Dr. Eric Gladney. “Our MBA is among the most affordable in the state, and students are taught by faculty who are leaders in their disciplines.”
The curriculum “is student-centered and business-mentored,” said Gladney. In addition to core MBA courses such as Business Analytics, Operations Management, and Strategic Marketing, Human Resource Management students will take Staffing: Workforce Planning and Development, Compensation and Benefits, Employee Relations and Development, and Human Resources Management Strategy. In addition to core courses, Supply Chain Management students will take Strategic Logistics Management, Global Supply Chain Design Management, Procurement Logistics and Supply Management, and Supply Chain Systems Integration with SAP ERP.
“Students will be prepared to achieve their professional goals through rigorous classes, hands-on and relevant projects and will be mentored by business executives,” said Gladney. Degree completion is at the discretion of the student, who can elect to complete in two years, one-and-a-half years or one year (the latter includes summer sessions).
Founded in 1890, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is a land-grant doctoral research university dedicated to learning, discovery, and community engagement. The school provides a wide range of educational opportunities from bachelor’s to doctoral degrees in both traditional and online environments. N.C. A&T serves more than 11,150 students across eight colleges and one school. Students are enrolled in more than 160 degree programs and 29 choice minors.

Doane University – Crete, Nebraska
The College of Professional Studies at Doane University will launch its third fully online master’s program since 2016. The new Online MBA Program follows the University’s masters programs in Management and Education. Per the school, “Doane’s Online MBA Program will offer a challenging curriculum focused on technical and strategic elements of operating a business.”
Designed for working professionals, the program offers six in-demand emphasis areas and the opportunity to build your own emphasis area through a variety of electives. Emphasis options include Human Resource Management, Project Management, Healthcare Administration, Nonprofit and Public Administration, Supply Chain Management & Logistics, and Data Analytics.
All MBA courses are “completely online and taught by Doane faculty.” Courses are eight weeks long and are offered five times per year, “so students could potentially finish their MBA through Doane in as little as 18 months depending on course load.” The first Doane Online MBA cohort began the program this past May. Applications for 2018 are now being accepted.
